Barnabas Financial Ministry

Hosting Tips

We know from over 30 years of experience that a life-changing Barnabas Financial Seminar or event will benefit your congregation, church or organization. We are resolved and committed to help make the hosting of our events work out financially for both of us; whether your church or organization attendance is small or large.

Tips to keep
expenses low:

  • Provide lodging and some meals with a church member or family (saving hotel and some related travel expenses).
  • This also provides for a time of fellowship (and sometimes indirect counseling).
  • We rarely need a rental car if church members will help us get around town or supply a car.
  • Two or three local churches can team together to help share the "hard cost" expenses.
  • Airline flights are relatively low today. A church member may be willing to fund our flight(s) or donate frequent flier miles.  When we drive, mileage is a real expense that needs to be funded and/or worked out between us.

Tips to greatly
increase attendance:

  • Pre-register people the four weekends prior to the scheduled event.
  • Schedule our Sunday and Monday Evening format. Allowing us to preach Sunday morning during worship service(s) greatly increases the final registration count (often 50% to 400%), with many smaller churches having 50-75% of their congregation attending.

Tips to make an event
work for any sized church or organization:

  • Decide how many people / couples (“registrations”) you reasonably think will attend. Then contact us and we will work hard to tailor the financial terms to fit your budget needs.  Also see "An Abstract Thought" below.
  • Let the Holy Spirit give each attendee clear direction in how much they can contribute in the final session free will offering.  It is God's scriptural way of funding this ministry.  The registration fees primarily fund the syllabus, preparation expenses and other related event hard costs.

The Bottom Line

  • It rarely costs the hosting church any money to host our seminars or events.  Any financial investment by the hosting church, which is not covered by the registration fees, will be recovered through the increased giving from those who attend the seminar.  We know from tallying all the seminar evaluation forms that approximately 25% of the people commit to raising the amount of their own personal giving. Most all of this increase will go to their home church and will be in the offering plate in the weeks, months and years to come.

Final Word of Encouragement:

At this unique point in time and history, we want to come to every church possible to help set God's people free for complete service to Him.
There is a "world" to reach with the "good news" of Jesus Christ and His biblical principles.  However, we can't be unified and effective when God's people are non-committal, trapped in financial bondage, weighed down in debt, struggling with marriage and family problems, and not giving as God’s Word instructs.
